Actor Deepika Padukone, who plays a freedom fighter in Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, says playing the spirited character of ‘Kalpana’ was a dream come true.

Deepika stars alongside Abhishek Bachchan in Gowariker’s period thriller based on the Chittagong uprising during the freedom struggle.

Abhishek Bachchan floored Pune on Saturday with his wit, humour and humility

It's not every day that Pune gets treated to the Royal Bollywood couple. So when Abhishek Bachchan drove into the city with wife Aishwarya in tow, he made everyone's day, or night rather. The actor was the chief guest at the Citadel Extravaganza 2010 held at Le Meridien on Saturday evening. His wit and humour led to thunderous applause and echoing shouts of 'We love You' to which he took a Dostana stance and lamented, “I can hear just the men shouting!”

Saturday night showered Pune with a high dose of fashion, glitz and glamour. The much awaited Mr and Miss Pune, 2010 personality and beauty pageant, which was sponsored by Proxima Creations' Yin Yang, took place at Hotel Le Meridien.

After the release of Paa, several reports talked of how fond Vidya Balan had become of Abhishek Bachchan. Vidya, who plays Amitabh Bachchan’s mother in the film, was extremely impressed by Abhishek’s caring demeanor towards his father during the shooting of the film.

Ajay Gehi, whom we last saw in Raavan, is a very happy man these days. After a hiatus of almost four years, the actor was back with director Mani Ratnam’s film.

Speaking to DNA, Ajay says, “I had done Vishal Bharadwaj’s Maqbool after which I dabbled on television with a show called Milee but soon quit TV as my calling was always films. And then got a call from Mani Ratnam and Raavan happened.”

Producer Feroz Nadiadwala waited four years for Akshay Kumar to return to the third film in the Hera Pheri series before they parted ways because of the price factor. With Akshay gone, Feroz had to change the entire cast of Hera Pheri.

Producer Firoz Nadiadwala is planning the third sequel to his hit comedy Hera Pheri but not with its original cast. Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Nana Patekar will now replace the hilarious Baburao-Raju-Shyam trio, played by Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty respectively. The film goes on floors by the end of the year.
