Cannes (PTI): The world's largest film-producing nation may be missing from the official selection of the 61st Cannes Film Festival, which opens on May 14, but, as always, a sizeable Indian contingent will descend on the French Riviera over the next fortnight to promote a wide array of cinematic wares.

With the Bachchans figuring prominently in many of the Indian events planned for Cannes, Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya, who is a brand ambassador of French cosmetics giant L'Oreal, one of the main sponsors of the Cannes Film Festival, are likely to fly into town to flag off ABCL's alliance with Reliance and promote Sarkar Raj

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai [Images] seem to have become an inseparable onscreen couple after marriage. After Guru and the upcoming Sarkar Raj, they will be seen together in Rajiv Menon's new film, Dhun. It will be produced by Eros Entertainment.

Dhun is a musical love story, and will feature eight songs.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a regular at the Cannes Film Festival since 2002, the year her film, Devdas, was screened at the festival.

This year too, Ash, who is the brand ambassador for L'Oreal, will arrive in Cannes on May 25. She will be accompanied by husband Abhishek Bachchan , whose upcoming film Dilli 6 will be showcased at the festival. Dilli 6 actress Sonam Kapoor and director Rakeysh Omprakash will also attend.

Mumbai, May 10: Bachchan clan is coming together for a movie to be directed by NRI film-maker Pan Nalin ambitious project on the life of Gautam Buddha.

According to the reports, actor Amitabh Bachchan alongwith son Abhishek and daughter in law Aishwarya are in talks with director Pan Nalin for his international project on the life of Gautam Buddha. If all goes well, Abhishek will be playing the lead role in the flick. Amitabh and Aishwarya have been approached to play the characters of Buddha’s father ‘Shuddhodhana’ and that of his wife ‘Yashodhara’ respectively.

Mani Ratnam’s new project is once again with the golden couple of Bollywood, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, in the lead roles. The film will be shot both in Hindi and Tamil and dubbed in many other Indian languages.

Ram Gopal Varma and Amitabh Bachchan's plans for promoting their upcoming film Sarkar Raj went awry due to the recent outburst of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray.

Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek was supposed to do a promotional rally at Shivaji Park . The rally was to be like a rally that takes place in the film and Bachchan with the cast would have addressed the public at the venue where several political rallies are held.

MUMBAI: Reliance Big Entertainment (RBE), the entertainment company owned by ADAG, is gearing up for its global launch during the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival.

The first of the many announcements expected from Cannes is Reliance Big Entertainment, which is joining hands with AB Corp, Amitabh Bachchan’s film production company. ADAG is believed to be picking up a significant stake in the company, though details are not available. An alliance with AB Corp will allow Reliance Big Entertainment to leverage the relationships with the industry that Mr Bachchan, his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya bring to the table.

The stars accompanying the Bachchans for The Unfogettables tour in July have been finalised.

Confirming the list, Sabbas Joseph of Wizcraft, organisers of the tour says, “Preity and Riteish will be at all the venues. Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit and Shahid Kapoor are the guest stars for US, Trinidad, Amsterdam and the UK.”
